FLROENCE, Ariz. (AP) - Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Florence man accused of choking his pregnant teenage girlfriend to the point of unconsciousness.

Sgt. Pat Ramirez said Friday that 24-year-old William Christopher Willson was booked on aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and preventing the use of a telephone in an emergency.

Authorities say Willson and the 18-year-old victim got into an argument when he smashed her phone.

Willson then allegedly pushed the victim’s head into a wall and choked her with his hands.

After regaining the consciousness, the woman says she fled to a family member’s home and called 911.

A family member of the suspect’s turned him over to deputies on Tuesday.

Authorities say the victim was treated at a hospital for bruising and swelling around her neck.
