TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Motorists are seeing slightly higher prices at the pumps in New Jersey.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the state on Friday was $3.50, up a penny from last week. That’s also higher than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.42.
The price increase ends a three-week stretch where gas prices had fallen in New Jersey.
The national average price remained at $3.66 for the second straight week. That’s slightly more than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.66.
Analysts say the higher prices are due to rising crude oil prices spurred by rising geopolitical tensions, mostly in Libya and the Ukraine.
