ERIE, Pa. (AP) - A man has been ordered to stand trial in the stabbing death of his mother at their mobile home near Erie International Airport in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Nineteen-year-old Michael Burrows is charged in Erie County with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime.

The Erie Times-News (https://bit.ly/1kt2YbS ) reports that Burrows said in a recorded interview with Millcreek Township detectives that he didn’t remember everything that happened March 14.

He said remembered getting a knife from a kitchen drawer and arguing with 54-year-old Mary Burrows about his drinking. At one point in the recording played in court Thursday, he said “I probably cut her or something.”

Defense attorney Gene Placidi has said the defendant’s mental state will be an issue in the case.
