VADNAIS HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) - A Ramsey County sheriff’s deputy crashed a squad car into a commercial building in Vadnais Heights, struck a gas line and ignited a fire in the building.

The deputy escaped without serious injuries. And officials say no one was in the building when the crash occurred about 10 p.m. Thursday.

KARE-TV (https://kare11.tv/1oB4riN ) reports the deputy was following a speeding driver when he failed to make a turn and hit the building. He got out of the squad as the fire started and away from the crash.

The building houses several businesses, including an accounting firm.
