PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The owner of a Portsmouth bar has admitted he failed to report more than $920,000 in income from his business.

The Newport Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/JV2etp ) Kenneth O’Brien pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to three counts of tax evasion.

Prosecutors say O’Brien acknowledged keeping two sets of books at The Beach House bar while skimming between $5,000 and $10,000 a month between 2007 and 2010.

Prosecutors say he owed almost $172,000 in taxes.

He faces up to five years in prison and a $100,000 fine when he is sentenced in September.
