PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Maine state police have charged a Portland man with possession of child pornography.

Detectives from the State Police Computer Crimes Unit arrested 42-year-old Marcus Chapman on Wednesday after an analysis of his computer showed thousands of images of child pornography. He was released the same day on $1,060 cash.

Police said none of the victims are from Maine.

It was unknown whether Chapman had an attorney. A phone number for Chapman couldn’t be located on Friday.
