BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Bismarck’s annual Missouri River Festival kicks off on Friday.

The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/1mMljA6 ) reports the carnival will last through June 8 and have 24 rides as well as games, food and entertainment.

The festival will feature nightly contests where participants compete by reading historical speeches.



The carnival will be held in the lot across from Bismarck’s Civic Center.
