FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - The case against a 28-year-old woman suspected in a hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist near Windsor has been delayed while attorneys try to iron out a plea deal.
The Coloradoan reports (https://noconow.co/RbSouc ) attorneys for Theresa Marie O’Connor hoped to have a deal ready by a hearing Friday, but the Larimer District Attorney’s Office needed more time to discuss the case with the victim’s family. A new court date has been scheduled for May 14.
Authorities say 46-year-old Ernesto Wiedenbrug was riding his bike on the Interstate 25 frontage road near Colorado Highway 392 when he was hit Jan. 25.
O’Connor, who turned herself in to authorities Feb. 6, has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death, careless driving and failing to report a crash.
