WHITTIER, Calif. (AP) - Two people are unharmed after a helicopter crash near Whittier that’s being blamed on a fuel leak.
City News Service reports (https://bit.ly/1jrkbRR) that the pilot and passenger were taken to a local hospital after a hard landing Saturday in the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area.
A hazmat crew was sent to clean up the site because fuel from the helicopter’s 100-gallon tank had spilled onto the ground.
No fire was reported.
TV news footage shows the chopper resting on its side in a grassy area.
