PALESTINE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a Tennessee man is dead after a crash in a construction zone on Interstate 40 in eastern Arkansas.
According to Arkansas State Police, the wreck occurred Wednesday afternoon in St. Francis County. State police say 24-year-old Jacob Pace of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, died in the three-vehicle crash.
According to a preliminary report, Pace’s vehicle crashed into a car driven by 69-year-old Gary Rimer of Memphis, Tennessee. Pace’s vehicle then crashed into the trailer of a truck that had stopped for traffic in the construction area.
Rimer was injured in the crash and taken to a Memphis hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn’t hurt.
