SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Kearns man accused of drunken driving has been ordered to stand trial on charges that include vehicular homicide.
Police say Manuel de Jesus Guinea crashed his truck into the back of a Subaru that was carrying 3-year-old Zane Thurber in late January. The boy died later that night.
The vehicular homicide charge carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence upon conviction.
Guinea also was charged with nine counts of driving under the influence, one for each person injured in the crash in Taylorsville. Two of those charges were dropped Wednesday.
The Salt Lake Tribune (https://bit.ly/1kOvDrr ) reports that the 45-year-old Guinea is scheduled for an arraignment next month.
