CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - They’re not your typical Jersey girls, but you could say they’re hip.
New Jersey’s Adventure Aquarium in Camden has a new home for its two Nile hippopotamuses.
Genny is 4,000 pounds and Button is 3,000 pounds.
The aquarium spent more than $1 million to renovate the hippos’ home. The renovations include a new filtration system, video and lighting effects and ambient noise.
The Hippos Haven marked its opening on Thursday.
