BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - A judge has delayed a hearing during which a former county auditor in southern Indiana is expected to plead guilty to criminal charges stemming from personal expenses charged to county-issued credit cards.
Former Monroe County Auditor Amy Gerstman faces counts of theft and official misconduct over more than $11,000 in charges that authorities say she used to pay for clothing, travel and her children’s school tuition.
Special prosecutor Barry Brown tells The Herald-Times (https://bit.ly/1nFJK3n ) that he and Gerstman’s defense attorney asked for Wednesday’s scheduled hearing to be postponed so they could review presentencing reports. A new court date hasn’t been set.
Gerstman is a Democrat who was elected in 2008 and served a four-year term.
