SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - The Red River Waterway Commission has reopened the public boat ramps in Caddo and Bossier parishes.

The launches were closed about two weeks ago after water levels rose dangerously high.

KTBS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/TXiFOJ ) the newly opened ramps are at Stoner Avenue, Teague Parkway, Bishop Point and North Caddo/Bossier (Hwy. 2) recreation areas.

The commission advises boaters to use caution when launching into the current and be aware of obstacles such as trees and sandbars while navigating the river.

As water levels continue to fall to normal stages, additional cleaning and repairs will be necessary to accommodate the launching process. Boaters may experience delays in launching caused by temporary closures of the ramps during these periods. The commission said Thursday that cooperation from boaters is appreciated during the clean-up efforts.
