RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Dorchester County sheriff’s deputies say nine juvenile inmates have been transferred to Columbia after a disturbance at a Juvenile Justice Department evaluation center in Ridgeville.

WCSC-TV reported (https://bit.ly/1iuOIKV) that sheriff’s deputies, Summerville police and fire crews responded to the Coastal Regional Evaluation Center earlier this week.

A sheriff’s report says more than two dozen juveniles were involved in a fight. Investigators say some juveniles on the second floor of a unit were holding chairs and threatening to throw them at officers.

The sheriff’s report said there were no injuries to the officers or the inmates.
