MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - State investigators have been called to western Montana to help investigate the deaths of two people whose bodies were found at a rural residence near Superior.

A neighbor called the Mineral County sheriff’s office late Wednesday morning after spotting a body while checking on the residents at the request of an out-of-town relative who had been unable to reach them by phone.

Deputies entered the house and found a second body.

The sheriff’s office asked the Justice Department’s Division of Criminal Investigation to help with the investigation.

Justice Department officials say autopsies were planned Thursday at the state crime lab in Missoula.

No other information was being released.
