GOLD BAR, Wash. (AP) - The rafter who died Sunday after falling into the Skykomish River has been identified by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.

KOMO-TV reports (https://is.gd/Ju8vys) an autopsy found that 33-year-old James C. Bryant of Federal Way died of cardiac arrest due to cold water exposure.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday to a report of the rafter being given CPR after going into the water near Boulder Drop.



The man was reportedly wearing appropriate gear, including a life jacket and helmet.

The CPR efforts were unsuccessful, and the man died at the scene.
