RAINBOW CITY, Ala. (AP) - The director of a program for at-risk youth in east Alabama is charged with sexual abuse.
Police in Rainbow City say 48-year-old Phillip Wayne Gramling is charged with a misdemeanor count of second-degree sexual abuse.
The Rainbow City man directs a program called Saving Teens At Risk in Cherokee County. The program helps youth ages 12 to 17 return to high school to earn a degree.
Police Capt. Chase Jenkins says the arrest resulted from an interview with a juvenile.
Etowah County court records don’t indicate whether Gramling has hired a defense attorney. He is out on bond.
