BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - An attorney for a Baton Rouge lawyer charged by federal prosecutors with receiving child pornography over a three-year period says his client will plead guilty.
U.S. Attorney Walt Green says a bill of information filed Tuesday alleges William Steven Mannear used a computer to knowingly receive child porn from August 2009 through September 2012.
Green says Mannear faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and up to 20 years if convicted as charged.
Jim Boren, who represents Mannear, tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1piMe9L) his client has accepted responsibility for what he has done and will accept whatever punishment a judge deems appropriate.
Mannear’s case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Shelly Dick.
