MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a woman accused in the death of her newborn baby and a man accused in his wife’s slaying have both been arrested.

U.S. Marshals Inspector Henry Gerberth said in a statement that Chastity Ballinger of Saraland was arrested Tuesday and is charged with capital murder and abuse of a corpse.

Gerberth says Ballinger was sought by authorities in Wilcox County after a child’s remains were found in a plastic container in Clarke County. She was arrested by the marshals’ regional fugitive task force and Saraland police.

Gerberth says Michael Wohlschlaeger, of Pensacola, Florida was also arrested by the regional fugitive task force Tuesday in his wife’s March 2010 death.

It’s unclear if the two have attorneys.
