LAUREL, Miss. (AP) - A Richton man has been sentenced to serve 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of vehicular homicide in Jones County this past week.
The Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1rdl4TJ ) 50-year-old Randall Langele pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with prosecutors. Circuit Judge Billy Joe Landrum also ordered Langele to serve five years of post-release supervision.
Authorities say 20-year-old John Michael Aricer was killed on April 17, 2013, when the car he was driving collided with Langele’s pickup truck. Authorities say Langele was traveling in the wrong direction on U.S. Highway 84.
Aricer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prosecutors say Langele’s blood alcohol level was 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit.
