SKYFOREST, Calif. (AP) - Authorities are trying to confirm whether skeletal remains found in a Southern California forest belong to a man who ran away from a drug treatment center nearly eight months ago.
The San Bernardino Sun (https://bit.ly/1pvFFy6 ) says the remains may be those of 21-year-old Donavan Doyle.
They were found Monday in a steep ravine near the Above It All Treatment Center in the Skyforest area of the San Bernardino National Forest.
Sheriff’s Detective Richard Camacho says Doyle’s father identified a wallet found near the remains as belonging to his son.
Doyle was voluntarily admitted to the center but ran away on Oct. 9. Family members and local residents found the remains during a search Monday.
The coroner’s office will try to confirm the identity.
No foul play is suspected.
