LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) - A central Pennsylvania woman is facing charges after police say she and another woman stole items from Walmart and concealed them in her 3-year-old child’s backpack.

WPMT-TV (https://bit.ly/1oGcjgz) said 22-year-old Rachia Nalyn Thomas of Lancaster is charged with retail theft and corruption of minors.

The alleged incident happened Monday afternoon at a Walmart store in East Lampeter Township.



According to police reports, Thomas and another female woman $210 worth of merchandise in the child’s backpack and left the store without paying for it.

Thomas was arrested and the merchandise has been recovered.

Police said the second woman fled on foot. Investigators are using store surveillance video to identify the woman and she will also be charged.
