CROSWELL, Mich. (AP) - Authorities in Michigan’s Thumb say a 29-year-old man fatally shot a 53-year-old man who’d gotten in an argument with a woman.

The shooting happened about 8 a.m. Monday in Croswell, a city of 2,400 about 65 miles north-northeast of Detroit.

The Times-Herald of Port Huron (https://bwne.ws/1jYzdjI ) says the suspect lives in Croswell and was awaiting arraignment on an open murder charge and a charge of having a firearm in a felony.



Croswell police Chief Dave Hall says the victim was taken to Port Huron Hospital, where he was declared dead. Police identify him as Paul Barr.

Neighbor Jaime Garcia says he heard a “pop, pop, pop” and thought it was firecrackers until he heard screaming.
