GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - An elderly man died in an apparent suicide in front of Greeley Police Station headquarters.

Greeley Police Sgt. Joe Tymkowych said the man walked up to the station Tuesday morning and killed himself with a shot to the head with either a rifle or shotgun. The Greeley Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1rdXRks ) police found a note.

Tymkowych said the man had a clean criminal record and there were no warrants pending for his arrest.



Additional details were not being released pending investigation. The man’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
