PITTSFIELD, Ill. (AP) - A western Illinois man has been sentenced to two years of probation after being convicted of stealing $175,000 from a charitable trust.

The Quincy Herald-Whig (https://bit.ly/1nuvGJL ) reports Pike County Circuit Judge Diane Lagoski found 75-year-old Francis Quattrocchi guilty of five felony theft counts last week.

Lagoski also ordered Quattrocchi to pay more than $178,000 in restitution to the William Hack and Elizabeth Miller Family Education Trust.

Quattrocchi was a trustee who ran a farm that the Miller siblings deeded to the trust in the early 2000s. A special prosecutor says proceeds from the farm never made it into the trust account.

Quattrocchi was charged in 2012.

More than $156,000 was immediately returned to the trust after Quattrocchi’s assets were frozen by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department during the investigation.
