LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (AP) - The Lincoln County sheriff’s office says a 14-year-old Portland boy was killed when he tried to jump aboard a trailer at a camp, fell off and slipped under the trailer’s wheel.
The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1kIjxji) that Cruz Miller was an eighth-grader at Mount Tabor Middle School.
The sheriff’s office said he was among about 50 children Monday in a Japanese language immersion program who had been at Camp Westwind north of Lincoln city.
Deputies said the driver didn’t see the youth, and the death was accidental.
