ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Police say 10 people have been charged after several fights broke out among the Memorial Day crowds that gathered at a Lake Ontario beach in Rochester.

Officials say most of the fighting Monday evening involved teenagers at Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte (shahr-LAHT’). Police had to close the park for about 90 minutes.

Rochester police were assisted by Monroe County sheriff’s deputies and officers from the suburban towns of Greece and Irondequoit (uh-RAHN’-duh-kwoyt).

The people arrested were charged with disorderly conduct. No injuries were reported.
