SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police say a 10-year-old Providence boy has been hospitalized after riding a snowmobile about 60 feet down a steep slope on a snowmobile in Cache County.
Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Doyle Peck says in a statement that the boy was riding with his family west of Tony Grove Lake on Sunday afternoon.
Peck says the boy failed to see a steep drop-off and was unable to stop the snowmobile before riding over it.
The boy and the snowmobile fell about 60 feet, with the boy injuring his hip arm and abdomen.
Rescuers treated the youth at the scene before flying him to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Peck did not have details about the boy’s condition.
