Man charged with stabbing his child’s mother

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Newark Police have arrested a man they say stabbed the mother of his child in her home.

It happened about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in an O’Daniel Avenue apartment. Police say 27-year-old Earle D. Moore of Wilmington kicked in the door of the apartment where the woman and their 9-year-old child were and scuffled with the victim.

Officers say Moore grabbed a knife from the kitchen and chased the woman into another apartment. Police say Moore stabbed the woman repeatedly.

Authorities say the woman was taken to Christiana Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Moore was arrested shortly after the incident. He is charged with attempted murder and numerous other offenses.
