NORWALK, Conn. (AP) - Authorities say they don’t expect to find a boater missing in Norwalk Harbor on Long Island Sound alive.
NBC Connecticut reports that Norwalk police Lt. Paul Resnick says that “we’re not anticipating finding a living viable victim.”
The Coast Guard says the kayaker has been missing since about 12:30 p.m. Monday. The boater was identified only as a 45-year-old man.
Three other boaters were rescued and are OK.
Martin Betts, a Coast Guard spokesman in New Haven, says an auxiliary aircraft initially searched for the missing boater, followed by a helicopter and boat. Norwalk police and fire officials also are searching.
No other details were immediately available.
