LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a 24-year-old motorcyclist who died after slamming into pickup truck in northeast Las Vegas.

Clark County coroner’s officials say Steven Michael Bennett died after the crash that happened about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Carey Avenue and North Camel Street.

Police say Bennett was riding on Carey Avenue at a high rate of speed when he hit a pickup that was making a left turn.

He was thrown off the motorcycle and later pronounced dead at University Medical Center. Four people were in the pickup truck, including two boys, ages 7 and 5.

One of the boys and a 64-year-old woman in the truck suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
