DENVER (AP) - Authorities say a suspected drunk driver whose license was suspended crashed his pickup head-on into a car on Interstate 225 in Aurora before fleeing the scene.

Police were called just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday on reports that a truck was headed south in the northbound lanes of the interstate near South Parker Road.

Lt. Jeff Turner tells The Denver Post (https://bit.ly/1k51e36 ) a woman was driving in a construction zone when the truck hit her car. She was seriously injured.

Turner says the suspect climbed out of the pickup and ran away from the accident, but he was arrested a short time later.

Authorities have not released the names of anyone involved in the crash.
