DURANGO, Colo. (AP) - A 39-year-old man accused of shooting his girlfriend at a Durango motel is facing several charges.
The Durango Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1lKmRYb ) Jeremy Dupree was charged Friday with possession of a firearm by a previous offender, prohibited use of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence.
Authorities responded to the motel in the Bodo Industrial Park on April 19 after Dupree’s girlfriend, Robin Armstrong, called 911 to say she had been shot in the stomach with a .44-caliber revolver.
Armstrong told police the gun accidentally went off when Dupree slammed it onto the desk during an argument. Investigators say the couple were intoxicated at the time.
