MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man faces a possible life sentence after pleading guilty to stabbing his wife to death at their Manchester home.

WMUR reports (https://bit.ly/1p0KySa ) that 54-year-old John Hogarty pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder in the death of his 46-year-old wife, Michelle Hogarty, in May 2013.

Michelle Hogarty died of multiple stab and slash wounds to the neck. Her husband was initially charged with first-degree murder.



The couple was married about 10 years and had a son, who was home when his mother was killed.

The station reports that prosecutors did not offer a motive for the killing.
