SALISBURY, N.C. (AP) - Police in Salisbury have arrested a man after they say he fired a shotgun into an apartment and hit his girlfriend with a skateboard.

Authorities said 21-year-old Bryan Javier Ascencion fired 11 shots from a 12-gauge shotgun into an occupied apartment Friday. The resident was asleep, but unhurt.

According to a police report, Ascencion’s girlfriend had been sleeping in their apartment before he hit her with his fists and beat her with a skateboard. Authorities said she left the apartment with two children who lived there.
