MIAMI (AP) - A recently graduate of the Miami Police Academy now faces federal identity theft and wire fraud charges.

Federal authorities arrested 34-year-old Yurien Martinez Gallardo on Thursday along with 19 others. Most of the defendants had worked in the wireless communications industry

The Miami Herald (https://hrld.us/1k0MIcS ) reports Gallardo graduated from the six-month training program at the Miami Police Academy but had yet to be sworn in as an officer.

A conspiracy indictment accuses Gallardo and the others of stealing the personal information of customers, including Social Security numbers. It alleges they bought cellular phones at discount prices and resold them for a profit.
