AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - A Colorado man is guilty of aggravated assault for stabbing two people in a fight in a Maine bar last November.

A jury convicted 27-year-old Jacob Lynn Hitchcock of Bennett, Colorado, of the crimes on Thursday. Hitchcock faced the charges stemming from an alcohol-fueled bar fight in Hallowell.

The Kennebec Journal (https://bit.ly/1p0sqrI ) reports Hitchcock will be sentenced on May 29. The charges each carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

Hitchcock’s attorney, Roger Brunelle, said Hitchcock was defending himself when he swung a utility knife at two people. Hitchcock and two victims were treated for their injuries at hospitals.
