VASSAR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a school bus struck a turkey in Tuscola County, leaving a 3-year-old child on board with cuts on his head from broken glass.

The Saginaw News reports (https://bit.ly/RiA8i8 ) the turkey smashed the windshield on the bus Thursday in Vassar Township, about 80 miles north of Detroit.

The child was treated and released. The sheriff’s department says the turkey went into the path of the bus before being hit. The Tuscola County Intermediate School District bus wasn’t drivable afterward, so it was towed and other children boarded another bus.
