WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Worcester police are investigating after a man posing as a parent wishing to enroll a child entered a city school and snatched jewelry from an employee.

Police say the man entered City View Elementary School at about 11:25 a.m. Wednesday.

They said the man got into the school by asking about enrolling his child. He was given the necessary paperwork, and after receiving it, lunged at the woman, grabbed jewelry from around her neck, and fled.

Police say he left the area on a yellow bicycle.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, about 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-8 inches tall, with a thin build, and dark brown hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and cargo shorts.

Children were never in danger.
