WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) - Hawaii officials say a $9.1 million ferry terminal improvement project at the Kauanakakai Harbor on Molokai has been completed.

The Maui News (https://is.gd/9BE0wq) says the project expanded the passenger waiting area, upgraded restrooms and increased parking space.

The project also included a new fire protection system and upgraded sewage system.

The state Departments of Transportation and Land and Natural Resources say 80 percent of the project was funded with federal Transit Administration money. The rest of the funding came from the state.
