HOLLANDALE, Miss. (AP) - Angela Johnson, who has spent the past three years as school improvement officer at T.R. Sanders Elementary School, has been appointed superintendent of the Hollandale School District.

The Delta Democrat Times reports (https://bit.ly/1hc1de2 ) Johnson will begin a three-year term as superintendent July 1. She previously served as the district’s curriculum coordinator from 2009-11.

Her predecessor, James Johnson-Waldington, resigned April 30 and will serve as Johnson’s deputy until June 30. Johnson-Waldington resigned a year short of completing his six-year contract.



Johnson-Waldington is joining the Bailey Educational Group in Ridgeland as vice president of marketing.
