TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (AP) - A northwest Alabama man has been sentenced to life on charges of rape, robbery and burglary.
The TimesDaily of Florence reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/1sZA6bo ) that 31-year-old Tavares Terrell Garner of Tuscumbia pleaded guilty to the charges during a pre-trial conference.
Authorities say Tavares attacked the victim at a Sheffield apartment complex in mid-October and was arrested in early January.
Colbert County Circuit Court judge Hal Hughston sentenced Tavares to three life sentences.
