MADISON, Miss. (AP) - Madison Police are investigating a death as an apparent homicide.
Authorities say a man was found dead Wednesday in the bedroom of his home. A relative, who checked on him because he had not reported for work, notified police.
Family members tell WLBT-TV (https://bit.ly/1h9H8EZ ) the victim is Dr. Garrick Shelton, chair of Developmental Enhancement Studios at Jackson State University.
Police say they’re investigating the death as a homicide because foul play is indicated. Police Chief Gene Waldrop says investigators found a bloody crime scene, and, for now it’s classified as a suspicious death.
Police are currently searching for Shelton’s car and asking for help in finding a black 2013 Chevy Malibu, tag number #2298A/P.
