HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island man has been found guilty of fatally stabbing a man 86 times before dumping the body on railroad tracks.
Henry Martinez Ramos was convicted on Tuesday of second-degree murder in the death of Ermis Alonzo of Freeport.
Prosecutors say Ramos stabbed the 21-year-old man during a fight on Oct. 20, 2012.
Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/1lE6LPN ) reports that the 26-year-old defendant then dragged Alonzo’s body to nearby railroad tracks and covered it with railroad ties.
He was arrested the following day.
Prosecutors say the two knew each other and had a history of verbal altercations and exchanging insults.
Ramos faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced July 7.
