JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A Juneau police officer has been honored with two lifesaving medals.

The Juneau Empire reports (https://is.gd/PAFUnS) Officer Sterling Salisbury was honored during a ceremony Tuesday for two acts since January.

He pulled an unconscious woman away from live electric wires after a car crash in late March.

Earlier, in January, he and officer Tommy Penrose responded to an apartment fire call. The apartment was filled with smoke from food burning on a stove. Penrose dragged the unresponsive man to safety while Salisbury doused the burning food on the stove with a fire extinguisher.
