MILWAUKEE (AP) - Milwaukee police say an 11-year-old girl was shot and seriously wounded when she was caught in a crossfire on a school playground.

Police say two people apparently were shooting at each other when the girl was hit.

The shooting happened on the playground of Clarke Street School shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday.



Police say the girl was taken to a hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.

No one has been arrested.
