MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Westover Mayor Dave Johnson has been charged in an election fraud investigation.

Johnson pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Monday in Monongalia County Circuit Court.

A grand jury indicted Johnson on one felony count of unlawful printing, possession or delivery of ballots and one misdemeanor count of circulating written materials advocating the election or defeat of a clearly identified candidate.



WDTV-TV (https://tinyurl.com/ncnyszp) reports a trial date was set for July 29.

Johnson is up for re-election on June 10.

His attorney declined comment on the charges Monday.
