BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont court records say a man considered a person of interest in the suspicious death of a man at a Burlington homeless encampment told others he killed the man.
The court papers say 52-year-old Mark Delude say he acted in self-defense.
Police say Delude was involved in an altercation with 40-year-old Forrest Bryant late Friday or early Saturday.
Delude appeared in court Tuesday where he refused to enter a plea to an obstruction of justice charge. The Burlington Free Press (https://bfpne.ws/1nciE62 ) reports Delude’s attorney denied the charges on his behalf.
Bryant’s body was found Saturday morning. No ruling has been made on the cause of death.
Court documents say witnesses told investigators Delude was responsible for Bryant’s death and Delude told witnesses he killed Bryant in self-defense.
