RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia utility regulators have scheduled hearings on two rate increases proposed by Dominion Virginia Power.
One request before the State Corporation Commission involves a proposed rate adjustment to recover costs for electric transmission service. The proposal would increase a typical residential bill by $1.91 cents a month, or a 1.7 percent increase.
The public can weigh in on that proposal on July 1.
The other rate hearing is scheduled for Aug. 18. It pertains to a fuel rate increase related to Dominion’s cost of generating electricity or purchasing power from other producers.
The revised fuel rate would add $4.46 to the typical monthly bill. That’s a 4.1 percent increase.
